Today, while helping plant some new specimens in the Arboretum, I learned that a group of members is hoping to produce a database of the Arboretum's wildflowers. They are wondering if members of the APL Camera Club would be interested in producing photo-illustrations of the various wildflowers. So there's an opportunity to concentrate on a specific type of photo subject. I will try to acquire contact info of those spearheading this project.

Being an admitted beginner at identifying wildflowers, I conducted an online search for a "wildflower identification website". I found this website which has what strikes me as a very efficient identification section ... http://mywildflowers.com/identify.asp
It successfully identified the "Celandine" at my first try .. by having me check off a number of multiple choice inputs.
Does anyone know of a better website or a similar smartphone app?
Thanks for the information Barry. I have been consentrating on birds around the ponds but I will try to find some photos of wild flowers on my next visit. It makes it easier to know what the members of the Arboretum are looking for.
